The central mission of our lab is to understand the molecular underpinnings of myeloid leukemias with the deliberate intention of rapid translation to the clinic. Our research has focused on Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia (CMML) because it is a lethal leukemia with very little therapeutics available. Whether with in vitro or in vivo xenograft models, we primarily leverage primary samples generously donated by our patients to achieve our goals. Below is a general summary of our projects:

1. Investigating the therapeutic candidacy of non-coding RNAs in CMML.

2. Annotating the functional intra-patient clonal heterogeneity using a novel next generation sequencing based approach.

3. Understanding the clinical implication of recurrent mutations in MDS/CMML.

4. In-depth genomic profiling of exceptional cases/responders to understand mechanisms of response.

5. Drug Repurposing: Providing preclinical rationale for the use of early phase compounds in clinical development for other malignancies or conditions in CMML.
