The focus of my research is to enhance immune responses to tumors in patients with melanoma. Patients with metastatic melanoma have multiple suppressive mechanisms that prevent the establishment of effective anti-tumor immunity. My approach is to decrease tumor-induced suppression in combination with vaccine approaches to enhance T cell responses. My goal is to translate pre-clinical results into clinical trials to improve therapies for patients with metastatic melanoma.
