Research Interests
The Molecular Screening Program (MSP) has been established to conduct translational research into discovery of markers of neoplastic transformation and confirmation of these markers in specimens from human populations. A funded Biomarker Development Laboratory of the NCI Early Detection Research Network, MSP is conducting clinical trials of hnRNP A2/B1 protein expression and helical CT screening for the early detection of lung cancer. Markers of promoter methylation, loss of heterozygosity, Transforming Growth Factor beta Receptor gene and downstream elements of the TGF signaling pathway are also under study.
